The Wang Dang Atomic Tango quest in Fallout: New Vegas is one of the most memorable side missions available in the Freeside district. Given by James Garret at the Atomic Wrangler Casino, this assignment tasks the Courier with recruiting three unique entertainers to cater to the casino's eclectic clientele. Completing this objective yields valuable caps, experience points, and increased reputation within Freeside.
Starting the Quest at the Atomic Wrangler
To initiate the quest, players must head inside the Atomic Wrangler Casino located near the main strip entrance in Freeside. Speak directly to James Garret behind the bar counter and inquire about available work opportunities. He will explain his intention to expand the establishment's entertainment options by recruiting three specific personalities.
The contract requires finding a suave smooth-talker, a ghoul cowboy, and a specialized sexbot. Players can also pass Speech or Barter skill checks during dialogue to negotiate better payment terms for each successful recruitment. Taking time to secure all three recruits ensures maximum rewards upon completing the mission.
Recruiting Santiago and Beatrix Russell
The search for a suave talker leads to Santiago, who can usually be found lounging outside Mick & Ralph's store. By engaging Santiago in conversation and choosing non-hostile dialogue choices, you can convince him to offer his charm to the Wrangler. Alternatively, players can choose Old Ben near the Freeside gates by passing a Speech check or using specific dialogue perks.
Next, tracking down the ghoul cowboy requires visiting the Old Mormon Fort to locate Beatrix Russell. Beatrix is open to changing professions, but players must either pass a Barter check or provide her with a bottle of absinthe. Once satisfied, she will readily agree to pack her bags and join the staff at the Atomic Wrangler.
Locating and Reprogramming Fisto
The final candidate is a legendary sexbot named Fisto, situated inside the ruined Cerulean Robotics building. Before activating the robot, players must acquire the necessary reprogramming software from Ralph at Mick & Ralph's shop. With the holodisk in hand, head inside the facility and access the terminal controlling Fisto's pod.
Players can upload the holodisk directly or bypass the process using a high Science skill check. Upon activation, Fisto will offer a unique hardware testing demonstration before departing for the casino. Testing the robot's functionality is entirely optional, but it remains one of the most iconic moments in the entire game.
Claiming Rewards from James Garret
After all three entertainers have been successfully persuaded, return to the Atomic Wrangler to speak with James Garret. Informing him of each recruit's arrival concludes the quest and grants caps based on your earlier negotiations. The quest also rewards additional experience points and enhances your reputation throughout Freeside.
Visiting the casino later allows players to see all three recruits working on the floor. Furthermore, Fisto remains available in the back room to offer continued services whenever the Courier returns. This short quest showcases the humor and open-ended design that makes Fallout: New Vegas a classic RPG.
